Community Centre

St John’s Community Centre is located at 120 Great South Road, Papatoetoe. Its spaces provide opportunities to work in partnership with local community groups, some of which are featured below. Adult and Community Education

We provide space for activities and classes delivered by Adult Community Education Centre of Aorere College. These include a range of courses for those in residential care or with disabilities. Courses include  Dance and Movement, Dance and Sensory, Literacy and Numeracy, Mindful Colouring and Art and Craft Classes. There are also other courses for general community enrolment including Yoga, and a Life and living, exploring the Bible Course.  Enrolment for all courses is essential.

Please see below the courses for Term 1 (Feb 14 2024). We have limited space available in the courses, kindly confirm the names and numbers of students who would like to attend these courses.

Seats will be confirmed once payment made, this is so we can ensure that the courses, which run on ACE funding for the Tutors, are able to go ahead. Courses and Activities – Term 1, 2024

Dance & Movement, Mindful Colouring, Art and Craft, Fun with Words and Numbers (Adult Literacy), Art and Craft courses for those in residential care or with disabilities. General courses are Yoga and Life and living: Exploring the Bible. Enrolment for all courses is essential.

PLEASE REGISTER in person at St Johns or through Aorere College for the ACE funded courses held at St Johns and PAY DIRECTLY ONLINE at Aorere site search with keyword “St Johns”. Payment needs to be at least a week in advance to ensure that the class will run.

Papatoetoe Office

We provide space for education programmes provided by Inner City Women’s Group. The programmes focus on domestic violence prevention and support, understanding anger, parenting skills, building self-esteem and stopping violence for women. You can find more information here.

Papatoetoe Classes

We provide space for education programmes provided by the South Auckland brank of English Language Partners. The programmes focus on meeting the everyday English needs for living in our community. (This programme is currently discontinued) .
