Kia Ora everyone. As most of you would have heard, the government last week decided on a new framework for managing the Covid 19 risk within the borders of our country. The new framework is referred to as a traffic light system and intended to replace the lockdown mechanism we have currently.
As you can imagine churches have been scrambling to learn how the new traffic light system will affect our ministries.
At this time we can report that the national church is investigating the potential ramifications of this new framework on all aspects of ministry. We expect in the days to come that the Assembly Office will provide clarity as to how the new framework can be adopted by the Presbyterian Church.
Northern Presbytery sponsored a recent event where local ministers could receive professional advice from Professor Michael Baker, one of New Zealand’s top epidemiologists. The event was recorded and promised to be released for us to share in the coming days.
As we continue to be exposed to changes related to how we do church, let us remember that God is Sovereign and we know that for those who love God all things work together for good… for God gave us not a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. (Romans 8:28; 2 Timothy 1:7)
The best thing you can do with your anxieties is to take them to the Lord in prayer. God hears your prayer and will comfort you. If you need to talk further about specific anxieties, please feel free to contact us so that we can get you in touch with appropriate care.
